A man was hacked to death by miscreants on Sunday midnight in Katiadi Upazila of Kishoreganj.
The incident took place at Panchalgota bus stand in Katiadi upazila on Sunday midnight
The deceased Riton Miah (42), son of Siraj Uddin of Maijhati village under Patuavhanga union of Pakundia upazila Poluce also arrested 7 men in this connection.
According to local sources, Riton and his companions were returning from Badal Mia’s house in Ghilakandi area of Katiadi upazila on Sunday midnight. At this time, the miscreants, who were already there, ambushed Riton with native weapons.
Riton was seriously injured and taken to Kishoreganj General Hospital by his companions. When his condition deteriorated there, he was admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. He died in the early hours of Monday while undergoing treatment there.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) in Katiadi Model Police Station Shahadat Hossain confirmed to the incident and said that seven people have been arrested in this connection. An operation is underway to arrest the rest.
The body was sent to mourge for an autopsy.
