A youth was hacked to death by a gang of local miscreants in the city’s Postagola area on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Md Rajib, 28, son of Bachchu Mia, inhabitant of Eastern Housing area at Postagola Korimullahbagh under Shyampur Police Station, police said.
Quoting the family members of the victim, Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) Police Outpost In-Charge Sub-Inspector (SI) Mozammel Haque said that at least five miscreants including Roni swooped on Razib in front of his house when he was returning to his residence at about 12:30am.
He was rushed to the DMCH and the on-duty doctors declared him dead at about 2:30am.
No arrest has been made in this connection, the police official said.
