The judge of Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal – 1, TM Musa has handed down life term imprisonment to Aminur Rahman of Garimahal village under Kaligonj upazila in Satkhira on Wednesday for raping six female children several times. Aninur, who is now in Jashore Central Jail was a caretaker of a garden-house owned by Ehsanul Haque at Kharki in Jashore town.
The verdict was pronounced on Wednesday, said M Idris Ali, public prosecutor of the court. He told journalists that the verdict was pronounced by the court in six months, he added.
The PP told journalists that the man raped six children of a primary school as they went the garden to pick up mangoes several time. Guardians of the victims lodged a case with Kotwali police station on May 1, 2019 in this connection. In the meanwhile medical tests of the victims were made at Jashore General Hospital. The police detained Aminur on May 4. The six gave their statements before the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Nustrat Jabin Nimni.
