A middle-aged man died of cold-related problems at Darkamarar Bridge village in Domar upazila on Monday night as shivering cold hit the country’s northern districts.
The deceased was identified as Abu Taleb, 48, son of late Abdul Quader of the village.
Taleb suddenly fell sick in his house around 8:30 pm due to biting cold, quoting Jorabari union parishad chairman Ahsan Ahmed, UNB reports.
He died on the way to hospital, he said.
Member from ward-1 of the union Khalilur Rahman said they had been experiencing shivering cold since December 1 but the situation turned worse on Monday with incessant rain in the district from 8:30 am to 5 pm.
