A man committed suicide by taking poison after family feud over extra marital affairs in Gournadi of Barisal on Friday.
The victim was identified as Arjan Haoladar, 35, son of Jabed Ali from Badurtala village under Khanjapur union of Gournadi upazila and father of two children.
Gournadi police quoting family sources of the victim said, Arjan Haoladar was engaged in extra-marital affairs with Shilpi Begum, wife of Itali expatriate Azizul Sardar and mother of two children of neighbouring house.
Over these issue in-laws of Shilpi Begum on Wednesday night tortured Arjan and forcibly taken his signature on blank stamp-paper. On Thursday morning Arjan took pesticide after altercation with his wife Rehana Begum and he was referred to Barisal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
Arjan died at SBMCH on Friday morning and his dead body sent to morgue for autopsy lodging a case of unnatural death, said Abul Kalam, Gournadi police station officer in charge.
