A young man, professionally an electrician, was chopped to dead by a gang of criminals at Kabirpur Chatalpatty under Sailkupa municipality in the afternoon of Friday. The deceased was identified as Shahinur Rahman, 28, son of Mohan Sheikh from Habibpur village under same municipality.
The body was covered with quilt in the house of
Bappy where he was killed. The locals caught the main killer Bappi, son of Khotkhote from the spot.
Sailkupa Police Sub-Inspector Emdad Hossain said, Shahin might be killed due to indiscriminate chopping. He was also a member of drug edicts. The villager handed Bappi over to Sailkupa police.
The police said, Bappi was a vagabond and edict. Conflict following any drug related issue might lead the killing incident. The police recovered the body and seized some materials used for hemp smoking, the SI said.
