Captain of Bangladesh National Football team Mamunul Islam reached Kolkata on Wednesday. Mamunul left the city for Kolkata, the former capital of India to take part in the Indian Super League (ISL). Mamunul will play for Atletico de Kolkata in the ISL.
The Indian Super League will start on October 12 and will come to an end on December 22. A total of eight teams will take part in ISL.
Atletico Madrid, the champions of Spanish La Liga have the maximum share of Atletico de Kolkata. Star footballer of Madrid Luis Garcia will play for Atletico de Kolkata.
Former coach of Valencia, Anthony Lopez, who is a Spanish, is the Head Coach of Atletico de Kolkata. Brazilian coach Hose Bareto will act as the Assistant Coach of the Team.
Before leaving Dhaka, Mamunul Islam said, “A number of six foreign players will be allowed to play in a match of the League. I hope that I will get in the final XI. I shall try to give cent percent in practice and in matches if I get chance.”
Earlier, former footballer Monem Munna of Bangladesh played in the Kolkata League. He played for East Bengal and impressed the spectators by performing a good brand of football.
Atletico de Kolkata have started their practice session. They played a practice match on Tuesday last.
