Maldivian envoy calls on Expats’ Minister

Maldivian High Commissioner in Dhaka Dr Mohamed Asim on Tuesday paid a courtesy call on Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam BSc at his ministry office.
During the meeting at the expatriates’ welfare and overseas employment ministry at Probashi Kalyan Bhaban, they discussed various bilateral issues including labour migration.
Nurul Islam said Maldives is a genuine friend of Bangladesh and the bilateral relation between the two countries would also be strengthened in future as both are members of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).
He requested the Maldives government for receiving Bangladesh skilled workers including Information Technology (IT) professional, accountant, front desk manager, engineer and doctor in Maldives.
Lauding the job performance of Bangladeshi workers, the Maldivian envoy said he will provide all necessary assistance in this regard.
Additional Secretary of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Ministry Jabed Ahmed, among others, were present.
