Maldives to recruit more doctors, nurses

The Maldives will recruit more doctors and nurses from Bangladesh and will send students for medical education here.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed today between Bangladesh and Maldives in this regard at the 32nd meeting of the Ministers of Health of World Health Organisation South-East Asia Region (WHO-SEAR) and the 67th Session of the WHO Regional Committee for South-East Asia at Hotel Sonargaon in the city.
According to the MoU, Bangladesh will accept students of Maldives to study medical science and healthcare courses and export medicines to that country. Maldives will recruit more doctors from Bangladesh. .
The agreement was signed by the State Minister for health of Bangladesh Zahid Malek and Health Minister of the Maldives Hussain Rasheed. .
Earlier in April last, the health Minister of Maldives had expressed his country’s interest in recruiting physicians and importing pharmaceutical products from Bangladesh.
