Malaysia seeks application for recruiting foreign workers

Malaysian Human Resources Ministry on Saturday announced that the employers of the country must submit applications on January 28 for recruiting workers from abroad for plantation sectors.
It also said that employers of other sectors have to apply from February 15 for recruiting foreign workers. The employers have to apply through a stipulated online, Datuk Seri M Saravanan, Human Resource Minister of the country said it in a notice.
Earlier on January 10, the Human Resource Minister said the employer companies should complete their recruiting procedures including submitting online applications on hurry to avoid foreign workers harassments by frauds and middlemen.
The minister also asked all stakeholders to keep refrain of giving money to agents without getting clear documents in this regards.
The minister said in the notice that the government has decided to recruit about 32,000 foreign workers for plantation sector to meet the manpower deficit.
The Malaysian government also permits to recruit foreign workers in agriculture, factory production, mine, digging, utility services, constructions and housemaid sectors.
The minister also mentioned that standard operating procedure (SOP) have to be maintained for all employers companies in recruiting foreign workers.
It said that all foreign workers have to stay quarantine for seven days and to test covid twice after arriving in the country.
The employers have to bear all costs of bringing and appointing workers in Malaysia.
The minister said that the quarantine centers o the country are ready for rending services.
