In the latest reshuffle in the administration, some 20 top government officials have been transferred and given new postings.
The Public Administration Ministry issued separate orders on Thursday in this regard.
According to a notification, additional secretary M Abdul Kuddus (officer on special duty) has been made managing director of Bangladesh Climate Change Trust while director general of National Institute of Population Research and Training Mohammad Iqbal (additional secretary) chairman of Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC).
Additional secretary (OSD) Shyama Pada Dey
has been appointed as director general of Jatiya Muktijoddha Council, while additional secretary to the Power Division Tapash Kumar Roy chairman of Sustainable and Renewable Energy Development Authority.
Additional secretary to the Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Ministry M Alamgir has been transferred as the DG of Directorate of Primary Education while member of Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (additional secretary) Khandker Akhtaruzzaman chairman of the National Housing Authority. As per another order, joint secretary Mohammad Mafizul Haque (OSD) has been made a member of BIWTA while joint secretary to the Social Welfare Ministry Sushen Chandra Roy a member of Bangladesh Land Port Authority. Director of the Department of Environment (joint secretary) Alamgir Muhammad Mansur Ul Alam has been appointed as executive director of Electricity Generation Company of Bangladesh Ltd while member (joint secretary) of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission Abul Basar Moha Abdul Fattah project director of Bangladesh Economic Zones Development Project (Phase-1). Project director (joint secretary) of Strengthening Governance Management Project (Component-B: Digital Land Management System) Abdul Kalam Azad has been made executive director of Barind Multipurpose Development Authority while joint secretary (OSD) Zillur Rahman replaced Azad. Joint secretary (OSD) M Sirajul Islam has been made director of BJMC while joint secretary to the Youth and Sports Ministry M Abdur Rahman a Bepza member.
Another circular says Bangladesh Land Port Authority member M Delwar Hossain, BJMC director Paresh Chandra Roy and project director of Basic Education for Urban Working Children Project M Mazibur Rahman have been attached to the Public Administration Ministry as OSD (joint secretary).
Joint secretary M Moniruzzaman has been made joint secretary to the Textiles and Jute Ministry while joint secretary to the Health Ministry M Zakir Hossain transferred to Youth and Sports Ministry and M Enamul Haque replaced Zakir.
