Major constraints in agro sector need to address properly

A day-long seminar on the present status of highly potential “Agro Processing sector”, its major constraints, probable practical steps to address and suggestive measures for future was held at Salim Centre in Dhaka Friday. Senior Executives from various Agro processors sectors, teachers from different Universities and researchers from different organizations were participated in the seminar. The seminar was jointly organized by Bangladesh Agro-Processors’ Association (BAPA) and Agro Product Business Promotion Council (APBPC) under Ministry of Commerce. Md Shahabuddin Patwary, Joint Secretary of Ministry of Commerce and coordinator of APBPC inaugurated the seminar as the chief guest, while DD Gihosal spoke as special guest on the seminar. Md Nural Islam of former National Consultant of ILO and Dr Sreekanta Sheel, Consultant of Hortex Foundation presented the key note paper. Presided over by the Secretary General of BAPA, Raju Ahmed and Md Iqtadul Haque treasurer of BAPA delivered the welcome speech.
Speaking of the seminar, the coordinator of APBPC Md. Shahabuddin Patuwary hoped that on ending of this seminar the participant would be able to enhance their production and export capabilities in Agro Processing Sector.
Raju Ahmed hoped that the knowledge and experiences gathered from the seminar will be benefited for the participants in undertaking initiatives for advanced of creative packaging qualities of food products.
