Staff Reporter :
The immigration officials at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA), Dhaka declined Barrister Mainul Hosein to leave for Bangkok yesterday refusing to accept unconditional bail granted by the High Court Division of the Supreme Court. The reasoning that he was not asked to deposit his passport should be considered enough to be convinced about no impediment to his travelling. Despite this the high ups in the immigration insisted on a further clarification that Barrister Hosein was free to go abroad.
Barrister Hosein along with his wife was going to Bangkok for a health check-up.
When contacted over phone, Barrister Mainul Hosein termed the incident most bizarre and unbelievable to find ambiguity in understanding the unconditional bail issued by the highest court. He added that such interpretation of unconditional bail would cause many others harassment and financial losses.
