Main Eid Jamaat at National Eidgah

The main Eid Jamaat of the Eid-ul-Fitr will be held at the National Eidgah in Dhaka at 8:30am.
In total Five Eid Jamaat will be held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, sources said.
Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh on Saturday said that about 35,000 Muslim devotees will take part in the Prayers together at the National Eidgah in front of the Supreme Court premises.
“This year, the National Eidgah is being prepared for Eid prayers after hell past two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic,” DSCC Mayor said while visiting the preparation work.
President, ministers, secretaries, political leaders and the elite are likely to attend the Eid prayer at the National Eidgah.
The mayor said that law enforcement agencies would be working to
ensure foolproof security at the site. “We are working for a beautiful and safe environment round the city,” the DSCC Mayor said.
Pandals, awnings, and canvases, CCTV cameras and loudspeakers have been installed around the venue.
The biggest Muslim religious festival Eid-ul-Fitr is set to be celebrated on Monday or Tuesday, subject to the sighting of the shawal moon.
The National Moon Sighting Committee will meet on Sunday to fix the date for observing Eid-ul-Fitr.
The Islamic Foundation in a press release on Saturday said that the meeting would be held in the foundation’s Baitul Mukarram office after Maghrib prayers for reviewing information on the sighting of the moon of the Hijree calendar’s Shawal month.
Meanwhile, a separate press release of the Islamic Foundation on Saturday stated that there would be five Eid Jamaat held in the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque. That are at the morning 7:00, 8:00, 9:00, 10:00 and 10:45 am.
