Madonna has criticised BBC Radio 1 for banning her latest single Living For Love and called it a
discriminatory and unfair action.
The American singer’s single from her latest album Rebel Heart which was released last month has been accused of ageism by the fans, but she said that she
was shocked by the decision as it was a good,
catchy pop song, the BBC reported.
On contrary to this, Radio 1 explained in a statement that their decision had nothing to do with age of the Queen of Pop, its just that they chooses songs on
musical merit and their relevance to the young
audience. Reportedly, the radio station turned its
back from the 56-year-old singer long before
the release of her latest single.
Radio 1’s music head, George Ergatoudis said that average people who listened to her songs were over 30, but they focused on their young listeners.
