Pro-Awami League candidate MA Salam has been elected uncontested as the chairman of Chittagong District Council for the second time.
On December 5, the only competitor of Salam, pro-Bangladesh Nationalist Front (BNF) candidate Narayan Rakhkhit, withdrew his nomination paper, said Chittagong District Election Officer Khorshed Alam.
