A song of my birthday :
Time had taken away eighty one years of my life
On fifteenth October two thousand fifteen
And the beginning of the new but monotype
Life as proceeding further is yet to be seen.

And now all those that left behind forsaken
Day and night, cries or laughter, loss or gain
Are not to be counted but to move forward-
a new time to see adventurous as far as hard.

Let there be storm or rain, clouds, shining sun
Let the wind blow on time’s gone bygone.
All that’s natural, I shall bear in me, no matter
On my walking spree I shall keep company,
The hardest time often I come across as many
As that I would face so far my age can flatter.

I shall walk on as far as I can and sing a song
I sang earlier, the song appealing love all along.
So long I am alive I can bear upon me sorrow
And pain, silent death, falsehood, magic show.

But I shall hear the call of the new above all.
And I shall sing the song of this life every time.
I got no greed for richness in my life sublime
I don’t care for property, wealth, rise or fall.

What I have or haven’t, neither fault nor default;
as I always feel of my Creator in sweat and salt.

(The poem is composed on the poet’s birthday, October 15 for Dr Shahjahan Kabir)
