BERC informs the High Court: LPG price will be re-fixed within April 14

The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) on Monday informed the High Court that the organization will be able to re-fix the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) within April 14 this year.
To thit end, the country’s energy regulator held a day-long public hearing on January 14 as per the direction of the High Court.
The BERC place the information in the High Court Bench of Justice Md Mozibur Rahman Miah
 and Justice Md Kamrul Hossain Molla through an affidavit.
Advocate AM Masum and Barrister Syed Mahsib Hossain appeared in the court on behalf of the BERC and Advocate Abdul Matin Khasru appeared for the BERC Chairman, while Deputy Aattorney General Nawroz Muhammad Russel Chowdhury represented the State.
Meanwhile, the High Court exonerated the BERC Chairman Md Abdul Jalil from a contempt of court ruling issued against him for not complying with a directive over fixing the price of liquefied petroleum gas.
The court came up with the order after holding hearing on a petition filed by the BERC chairman seeking unconditional apology over the issue.
