Lower courts and tribunals across the country in 55 working days in this year have disposed of a total of 1, 43,961 bail pleas and allowed bail to 73,075 accused after holding hearings on
the petitions virtually.
Confirming the matter to BSS, Supreme Court spokesperson and High Court Division Special Officer Md Saifur Rahman said the lower courts and tribunals across the country from June 20 to June 30 have disposed of 6,631 bail pleas and allowed bail to 3,420 accused.
“The lower courts and tribunals from May 11 to August 4, 2020, in 58 working days had disposed of a total of 1, 47,339 bail pleas and allowed bail to 72,229 accused,” he said.
