Fake certificates for Tk 5,000!

Rakib and Mubarak had been making fake certificates by opening a shop in Nilkhet under New Market police station in the capital for almost three years.
One of them used to collect interested client while another used to make fake certificates almost exactly as per the demand.
They used to take Tk 5,000 to 10,000 per certificate.
The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) said this after arresting the two along with recovering fake certificate making equipment and various certificates including SSC and HSC level exams.
A team of RAB-2 arrested Rakib Hasan, 23, and Mubarak Hossain Johnny alias Hridoy, 25, from a shop named Varsity Multicolor in Nilkhet’s Bakushah Harkas Market on Wednesday night.
They had been doing this fraudulent work for a long time also making illegal profit by downloading various certificates through computer and using photoshop software, said RAB-2 Assistant Director (Media) ASP Abdullah Al Mamun.
He said that on the basis of intelligence RAB came to know, some dishonest fraudsters have been making various fake certificates and mark-sheets of secondary, higher secondary, honors or degree and masters degree level different educational institutions with the help of computer and selling them at high prices.
Those certificates and mark-sheets are useually bought by various fraudsters and they have been working in different organizations through fake certificate, he added.
Major Mirza Ahmed Saifur Rahman of RAB-2, who led the operation, said the arrested Mubarak used to collect clients or buyers of fake certificates. He listens to their needs and what kind of certificate they want.
During the preliminary interrogation, RAB came to know that in Covid-19 pandemic, the arrestees had made huge number of fake certificates and misappropriated for large sums of money, said this official.
