Long route commuters suffering for blockade

The commuters on long route have been suffering miserably due to siege programme of the BNP- led opposition across the country.
On third day of the siege , most of the passengers’ buses did not ply leaving untold miseries. But a very few number of cargo trucks and passenger buses run on Dhaka-Chittagong road with police escort , a sources of private bus owners group said. Besides, the long route buses of BRTC run as usually. Deputy Police Commissioner of CMP SM Tanvir Arafat told that a number of passenger buses left Chittagong for Dhaka on night of Wednesday and covered vans with police cordon. yesterday morning, no bus counter seen open in the terminals .
 Inter -district bus owners association General Secretary Kafi l Uddin said due to non-available of desired passengers , they closed their ticket counters in the day time and but few buses will ply for Dhaka in night time with police escort.
 Eye witnesses sources said mad rush witnessed in the rail station due to non-available of passenger buses.
Traffic Manager of Railway East Zone Firoz Iftikar told that all the trains left Chittagong in schedule time .
Meanwhile , the Istima participants are miserably suffering to reach Tongi as the Bishawa Iztima begins from today . All Eztima aspirants are trying to board in rail at any cost from early morning yesterday .
