A section of Bangladesh Chhatra League of Chittagong University unit held a demonstration program demanding immediate arrest and permanent expulsion of the accused from the university who are the accused of Tapos murder case.
More than 100 of BCL activities under the banner of ‘Taposh Sriti Sangshad’
brought out procession from Shah Amant hall and ended in front of administrative building of the University around 1. 30 pm on Sunday.
Sharif Hossain, one of the friends of slain Tapos and also a former Assistance Secretary of CU BCL, said
that near to 5 years have elapsed but CU authority don’t expelled those accused who killed my late friend Tapos Sarker from the university.
“Our demands are permanent expulsion of the accused from university and immediately arrest. ” He also adds at the demonstration
On 14 December 2014, a first year student of Sanskrit department and also a Chhatra League activist Taposh Sarkar died in front of Shah Amanat hall in a clash between two factions of CU Chhatra League.
Two days later, Taposh’s friend Hafizul Islam filed a murder case with Hathazari police station accusing 30 named Chhatra League activists and around 10-15 unnamed people. The case is under trial.
