Staff Reporter : Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan said Turna Nishita train’s loco master is responsible for the Kasba train crash.
“The loco master of the intercity train Turna Nishita led the trains to crash which claimed at least 16 people and injuring several others in Kasba,” the railways minister said it during his visit in Kasba upazila of Brahmanbaria where the accident took placeon Tuesday around 3:00am.
He said the loco master ignored signal which led the train to collision.
The minister said while visiting the spot around 11:00am that both of the loco master of Turna Nishita Express and his assistant have been suspended for the accident.
Railway ministry and district administration will give Tk 1 lakh and 25,000 for the victims families, minister Sujan said.
Meanwhile, five probe committees have been formed to investigate the incident.
Chattogram-bound Udayan Express from Sylhet and Dhaka-bound Turna Nishita from Chattogram collided at Mondobhag Railway Station which led the train to the accident.
