The government is likely to extend the ongoing strict lockdown for one more week to contain the transmission of coronavirus.
A senior official of the Cabinet Division said on Saturday that the ongoing lockdown is likely to be extended for one week more in the wake of rising virus infection.
“A meeting has been convened for Monday to discuss the lockdown situation in the country. The next decision for extension of lockdown would be taken at the meeting,” he said.
Against the backdrop of increasing coronavirus infection, the government announced stricter restriction from Wednesday last. This restriction has been termed ‘stricter lockdown.’
