Bangladesh local market has been flooded with fake and duplicate copies of Sony products due to the most popularity brand’s – Sony’s for outstanding performance for clear sound, performance, durability, after sales service and the advantage of the dependency of customer towards the brand, Alex Yee, Head of Bangladesh Branch Office of Sony International (S) Ltd.
He made the allegation while speaking at a press conference at Sony CCM Center in the city on Thursday.
Alex alleged a number of dishonest businessmen importing old-refurbished Sony TV as they have no authorization to import the new Sony TV and also are making duplicate copies of Sony LED TV.
They are using fake logo in body, accessories and packets along with inserting the logo in the TV software for visibility of the logo on the screen while TV turn-on of local or duplicate televisions, he said.
The Sony chief further said a huge network of this duplicate business is being maintained from e-commerce sites, social media pages, different show rooms, and shops in many places including in the district level areas.
These TV are purely fakes with poor screen-printed Sony & BRAVIA logo, Serial number, design, Power-On logo, detachable power cable, specification and guideline sticker, carton, back cover, even model number and so on, he added. He also said these fake products show a number of problems within a few days as screen becomes unclear-distorted, sound disturbance arises and the panel stops working, even though the television does not work anymore.
Getting the original product a customer needs to buy a product from a shop which has both the logos SONY-RANGS written together and the customers need to take proper Invoice, Money Receipt and Warrantee Card of Rangs Electronics Ltd, , he suggested.
