Loan defaulters cannot take part in the mayoral and councilor elections in the country, said an official release here yesterday issued by Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary affairs.
“According to Local Government (City Corporation), Act 2009, those who are loan defaulters or unable to pay any installment of loan cannot take part in the polls for mayoral and councilor posts,” said the press release.
