WIM Shamima Akter Liza maintaining lead in the points table with nine points after the 9th round games in the IWICA 35th National Women’s Chess Championship at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room on Saturday.
The defending national Woman’s champion Liza, a player of Bangladesh Navy, earned full nine points from nine games to maintain top slot followed by her teammate WFM Sharmin Sultana Shirin bagging 7.5 points from as many games.
Besides, WIM Rani Hamid, WFM Nazrana Khan Eva and Samiha Sharmin Shimmi shared the 3rd slot earning six points each.
In the 9th round games, Liza got walk-over against Tanzina Akter Tani, Shirin beat Jhorna Begum, Rani Hamid defeated Khandaker Sumaiya, Eva outplayed Fatema Tuz Zohara Sraboni, Shimmi beat Zahuratul Zannat Zisha and WFM Zakia Sultana played draw against Afrin Jahan Minia.
