The biennial election of Kurigram Lawyers Association was held where BNP supporters have been elected in 13 posts including secretary and AL supporters elected in six posts including president.
The chief election commissioner advocate Hazrat Ali said the vote was casting continued from 10 am to 2pm on Thursday. The result was announced at 10 pm on the day.Al and BNP Jamat supporters contested 38 persons in 19 posts in two panels. A total of 169 voters out of 172 exercise their voting rights. Al supporter advocate Abrahaim Lincoln elected president from Lincoln-Amzad panel, ad Abdur Razzak vice president and advocate Ahsanun Nashir Choudhury Helal, ad ATM Arifuzzaman Kollol, ad Zakia Sultana Sweety and ad Toufik Al Sahab Kislu won as member. On the other hand BNP jamat supporters Adv Altaf Hossain won as Vice President, Adv Mohammad Fakhrul Islam as General Secretary, Adv Resaul Karim Dulal as joint general secretary, cashier advocate Mokhlesur Rahman as office secretary, advocate Humaun Kabir as cultural secretary Adv Iqbal Hossain as Sports Secretary, Abdul Mazid Sarker, and member Adv Anwarul Islam, member advocate Ashraf Ali,advocate Tarukur Rahman,advocate Mizanur Rahman and advocate Abdul Hye Mondol.
