Huawei’s ‘Seeds for the Future’ campaign start

Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar on Sunday launched Huawei’s “Seeds for the Future” campaign aiming to cultivate and provide an opportunity for Bangladeshi talents in the field of information and communication technologies.
The flagship campaign under the corporate social responsibilities (CSR) in next two months will select promising 10 students from five reputed local universities, who will get intensive experiences in technology and training at Huawei headquarters.
Speaking on the occasion as the chief guest, Mustafa Jabbar said Bangladesh is moving fast towards “Vision 2021”.
“Our youth have significant contribution to the development of ICT and so, we are very much responsible to take care of our youths by nurturing their talent,” he added.
Terming this platform as a good opportunity for the local talents to gather knowledge, the minister noted that they could innovate better things in future. “We always feel proud when our youth do something good or make a good contribution to society,” Jabbar said.
Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Chief Executive Officer Zhang Zhengjun announced details on the campaign at the press conference in a city hotel.
Zhang Zhengjun said Bangladesh has a large portion of youths who are have energy and dreams, and Huawei believes youth is the main engine of development as well as digital advancement.
This ICT talent hunt education programme “Seeds for the Future” will help the youths to bring new ideas to make the society fully connected and intelligent, he said, adding, “With this project, we want to plant that visionary seed in their mind so that in coming years they can come up with new ideas to make this society a better living place.”
In Bangladesh, Huawei has been organising this programme every year since 2014. Talents of Dhaka University (DU), Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET), Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) and Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) will get chance in this year’s edition of “Seeds for the Future”. Huawei’s experts with concerned university judges’ panels in phases would select two best students from each university.
