One farmer was killed and three others were injured by lightning at Bawai village under Roumari upazila of the district on Sunday. The deceased was identified as farmer Reazul Haque, 35, of village Bawai village of Roumari upazila while three injured were Anisur Rahman, 40, Omar Ali, 25, and Karima Khatun, 35, of the village.
The injured were admitted in Roumari Upazila Health Complex.Local sources said the farmers were harvesting mustard on a mustard field at the village at around 11:00 am on the day while it was raining slowly.
At the time, thunder bold struck them. The farmer Reazul died on the spot. Shamin Akhtar, Officer-in-charge of Roumari police station, admitted the killing incident.
