In separate incidents, three people were killed and another injured by lightning strikes in Sadar and Manirampur uapzilas of Jessore district on Friday night.
In Sadar upazila, two people were killed and another injured when a thunderbolt struck them amid rain at Daherpara village in the night.
The deceased were identified as Rashed Hossain, 30, son of Hossain Ali, and Ayub Hossain, 45, son of Shamser Uddin of the village.
Abdur Rashid, medical officer of Jessore Medical College Hospital, said Rashed and Ayub died on the spot while Abdur Razzak, son of Aminur Rahman, was injured when a thunderbolt struck them while they were returning to home amid rain in the night.
In another incident, Bablur Rahman, a farmer and son of late Mohammad Ali of Jhapa village in Manirampur upazila, was killed by a lightning strike on way to his home on Friday night.
