Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Wednesday predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes over the country in 24 hours as of 9 am today.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur at many places over Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, at a few places over Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur division with moderately heavy falls at places over the country by 9 am today,” a BMD press release said.
Southwest monsoon has set on over Chattogram, Sylhet, Mymensingh and Dhaka divisions, the release said, adding that conditions are favorable for further advancement of southwest monsoon. Westerly low lies over Bihar and adjoining area, extending its trough to North-west Bay.
