Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Thursday forecast light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at most places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions in the next 24-hour commencing 9 am.
Besides, many places in Rajshahi, Dhaka and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rangpur and Mymensingh divisions are likely to see light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind and southern part of the country is likely to experience moderately heavy to very heavy falls , said a Met office bulletin. According to the Met office, a low over Northwest Bay and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal-Bangladesh now lies over Odisha and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal as a well-marked low.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajastan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, centre of the well-marked low to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated trough extends up to North-east Bay, it said.
Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and strong over North Bay.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, said Met office.
