Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Friday forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers in most of the places over the country.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at some places over Rangpur, Barishal and Chattogram divisions and moderately heavy falls at some places elsewhere over the country.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, said a met office press release here.
The axis of Monsoon trough runs through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across northern part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay. Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and moderate to strong over North Bay.
Country’s maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded 32.0 degrees Celsius at Dhaka and minimum temperature was recerded 19.0 degrees Celsius at Kutubdia on Friday.
Highest rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am on Friday was recorded 202 millimeters (mm) at Cox’s Bazar.
