In a weather forecast, the met office predicts light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes at most places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Khulna, Barishal,
Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with moderate to very heavy falls at places over the country by 9 am today.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Punjab, Hariyana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan and West Bengal to Assam across the northern part of Bangladesh, the forecast said, adding that monsoon is active over Bangladesh.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country during the period.
The maximum temperature was recorded 31.7 degrees Celsius on Tuesday in Rajshahi and Wednesday’s minimum temperature 24.2 degrees Celsius at Rangamati in Chattogram division.
The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6 am on Wednesday was recorded 759 mm in Chattogram.
