Substandard items: Licences of 2 more products cancelled: 25 suspended

Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) has scrapped licence of two more products of two companies for producing substandard foods.
The products are among the 52 food items that have been found substandard by BSTI.
The licence of Pure Hathazari Moricher Gura of SS Consumer Products (Chattogram) and Kiran Lachchha Semai of M/s Kiran Products (Naogaon) were cancelled, according to a BSTI press release on Thursday.
At the same time, the BSTI also suspended licence of 25 food products of different companies including Baghabari Special Ghee, Modhumati and Madina Salt.
On Wednesday, the BSTI scrapped the licence of seven products and suspended the license of 18 food products of different companies.
The BSTI recently collected 406 samples of food items from the market across the country and tested those at its laboratory. A total of 52 food items have been found substandard in the test.
