LGED implements Tk 1500m dev Projects in Moulvibazar

The Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) has been implementing infrastructure development projects worth Tk 1500 million in Moulvibazar during the current fiscal year (2016-2017).
The projects include 88 km concrete road construction, 200-metre bridge and culvert, six upazila freedom fighter complexes and reconstruction and repair of 157 km concrete road and 42 km bridge and culverts.
Of them, 191 km road construction and repair of 10 metres bridges and culverts have already been completed.
Sources from LGED Moulvibazar office said the department so far implemented Tk 8,080 million development projects during the last eight years. Most of the projects had played an important role in improving rural communication network, agriculture sector and socio-economic condition of the seven upazilas of the district.
The development projects include 663 km concrete road and 129-metre bridge and culverts in the remote areas for linking those with the upazila headquarters. 218 government primary school buildings, 11 union council buildings, 13 market places and growth centres, 22 dwelling houses for the poor and landless freedom fighters and 32 water resources structure for agriculture development.
