A total of 25 projects at the cost of Tk 988 crore are being implemented in Jessore region ( Jessore, Jhenaidah, Magura, Kushtia, Meherpur and Chuadamga districts) by the Department of Local Government and Engineering ( LGED). .
The information was disclosed at a workshop on development works of LGED, Jessore region held at the office, Jessore on Sunday. LGED, Jessore region arranged the workshop.
Chaired by Shyama Prashad Adhikary, chief engineer, local government and engineering department, the workshop was addressed among others by Shafiuzzaman, additional chief engineer, LGED, Khulna, Shafiul Alam, superintendent engineer and Abdul Hakim, project director.
Engineers, projects directors and other employees of LGED took part the workshop.
The workshop was also informed that a five-story freedom fighter complex is being constructed at Nawapara by the department.
