LGED implementing dev projects costing Tk 355cr in Bagerhat

Local Government Engineering Department ( LGED) has been implementing different development projects costing Tk 355cr in the current fiscal year with the financial assistance of World Bank , ADB, JAICA, and IFAD.
Sources said, the works are being done through 261 schemes under 15 projects .
Construction of Muktijoddah Complex under Prime Minister’s Priority Project at Sharankhola, Kachua and Rampal has already been completed. Construction of 38 houses for the poor freedom fighters and landless people are progressing fast.
Work on two bridges , culverts and 6 kilometer road on the connecting road of coal-based power station at Rampal in Bagerhat is going on . Construction of 18 cyclone shelters-cum-school under Cyclone Recovery and Restoration Project is progressing and work of 6 cyclone shelters has been completed.
Five projects out of 17 under South-West Rural Infrastructure Project has been completed .
With the assistance of IFAD, works on 21 schemes under Coastal Climate Resilient Infrastructure Project are going on .
Construction of road, bridges and culverts in nine upazilas with fund allocated in favour of four members of parliament has started. With the own resources of the Bangladesh Government, 56 works under 127 schemes in nine upazilas have been completed.
Mohammad Shahadat Hossain, Executive Engineer , LGED, Bagerhat said, we have achieved success due to sincere cooperation of senior assistant engineers, upazila engineers , sub-assistant engineers and other staff of the LGED .
