LGED implementing 19 projects in Comilla

Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) is running 19 projects at a cost of Tk 5.0 billion (500 crore) through 954 schemes during the current financial year in Comilla.
By works of 387 schemes have already been implemented. These development works are being implemented in 16 upazilas of the district.
Development work on 581.315 kilometre roads are going on in different locations of Chauddagram, Debidwar, Adarsha Sadar, Barura, Mohoharganj, Sadar Dakshin and Nangalkot upazilas of the district at an expenditure of 3.02 billion. Besides, repairing and maintenance work on 134.5 kilometre roads at an expenditure of Tk 386.5 million are in progress in different.
From resources it is known that construction works of four bridges are going on within Titas, Daudkandi, Homna and Nangalkot of the district at a cost of Tk 266.7 million.
Moreover, freedom fighters’ complexes would be constructed in seven upazilas at an estimated cost of Tk 151.5 million. Construction works of house projects for landless and poverty stricken 28 freedom fighters are going on also. Tk 27.8 million has been marked for expenses against this project. On the other hand, construction of 13 union council buildings and development work of seven markets and expansion of Devidwar and Burichong upazila complexes of the district are under progress. Cost of expenditure for these projects
as been estimated at 76.2 million. Further, construction of 12 primary school building at a cost of Tk 976 million in the districts, re-construction of 73 primary schools at an estimated cost of Tk 420 million, extension of 73 primary school at a cost of Tk 381.7 million, one PTI school at a cost of Tk 17.7 million and construction of one IDB school at a cost of Tk 43.5 million are in running state.
