Legislative logjam easing, CJ tells President

Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha on Tuesday said the legislative logjam in the country’s courts keeps on easing with the increased rate of disposal of cases following the Supreme Court’s initiatives.
The Chief Justice said this when he, leading a five-member delegation of
 Bangladesh Supreme Court, met President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban to hand over the Annual Report-2015 of the Bangladesh Supreme Court. During the meeting, the delegation apprised the President of different aspects of the report.
President’s press secretary Joynal Abedin briefed reporters after the meeting.
President Hamid laid emphasis on continuation of the Supreme Court’s initiatives for the quick disposal of cases to reduce the case backlog further. The Chief Justice informed the President about their efforts to set up a Judicial Training Academy and sought his cooperation in this regard.
