Chittagong District Bar Association (CDBA) appealed to the President to look into its demand for setting up a Circuit Bench of the High Court Division (HC) of the Supreme Court in Chittagong so that people can get justice easily, a sources of CDBA said.
The CDBA made the appeal when a 10-member delegation of the association by its president Kafil Uddin Chowdhury paid a courtesy call on President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban this afternoon, During the meeting, the delegation also drew the attention of the President to appointment of judges at district level in proportionate with the number of cases for the quick disposal of the cases.
President Abdul Hamid said the role of lawyers is very important in ensuring justice and urged the lawyers to put into their sincere efforts so that people, irrespective of rich and poor, can get justice.
When contacted former PP Advocate Abul Hashem told that President assured them to set a circuit bench of HC in the port very shortly.
