Law graduates demand enrollment as advocates without written test

A group of law graduates who have already passed in the MCQ test of the Bangladesh Bar for Council enrolled as an advocate held a sit in program on Tuesday in front of the Law Minister’s house demanding special consideration for appearing in the viva voce directly without written test in view of the coronavirus pandemic.

3.00 pm on Tuesday In front of the Law Minister’s house at Banani in the capital city.
The organizers said that the coronavirus situation is getting worse day by day. Meanwhile, the Bar Council failed to take the written test of about 13,000 students who had passed the MCQ test.
The students also said that the MCQ test was held after a long three years. But they were passing days as unemployed since they could not appear in the written and viva tests for the Bar Council’s tack of decision.
In this circumstance, the students demanded special consideration from the authorities for appearing in the viva voce directly without written test on the occasion of the coronavirus pandemic.
They think the Bar Council may enroll them by verifying their merit through vice voce. They will continue the program till their demand meets, added the students.
Earlier they also held programs in front of the National Press Club and Shahbagh areas demanding the same. Finally they went to Banani and took position in front of the Law Minister’s house as their earlier programs went unheeded.
Sources said a total of 12878 students qualified in the last MCQ test of the Bangladesh Bar Council. Many of them are suffering from frustration as they could not able to be enrolled as an advocate.
