Coastguards personnel have seized the cargo ship ‘SKL-3’ in connection with the capsize of passenger launch ‘Sabit Al Hasan’ in the River Shitalakshya of Narayanganj on April 4.
The ship’s driver among 14 staff were also detained from Gazaria of Munshiganj around 1:30pm on Thursday.
Launch ‘Sabit Al Hasan’ sank with over 50 passen gers on board in the River Shitalakshya in Narayanganj on April 4 after being hit by cargo ship ‘SKL-3’. So far, 34 bodies have been recovered from the accident spot.
Coastguard’s Pagla station commander Lt Ashmadul Islam told media that after the accident, the cargo ship soon left the scene and reached Gazaria where its colour was changed.
The BIWTA filed a murder case with Bandar Police Station in Narayanganj on Tuesday night.
