Last campaign for Covid-19 1st, 2nd dose vaccines starts

A six-day special campaign for inoculation of Covid vaccines began across the country, including the capital, on Wednesday.
It aimed at ensuring the three doses vaccination to those people who have not yet taken the jab.
“The vaccination campaign will continue till October 3. After that, no one can get a first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine will be available in the country,” said Abul Bashar Muhammad Khurshid Alam, Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The DG said that this special drive has been started on the occasion of the birthday of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
“The government is trying to bring all of the unvaccinated people in the country under this programme,” he said.
The DG asked the people who are yet to take the vaccine to get the last chance of being inoculated.
He said that about 33 lakh people will be brought under the first dose while 90 lakh under the second dose of the vaccine.
The DG said that the government has achieved the target of vaccination in the mean time.
“About 97 percent people have taken first dose of the jab while 90 pc got second dose and 41 pc have inoculated with the booster shots of the covid vaccine,” the DG said.
