Land feud claims life in Ctg

A college student named Alamgir Hossain Emon (24) was killed in a dispute over land in Gomdandi Union of Boalkhali Upazila of Chattogram district. The incident took place in East Khizirpur area around 2pm on Wednesday (May 26). The deceased was identified as Alamgir Hossain Emon, son of Abdul Salam of Mubarak Ali Fakir’s house in the same area. He is a post graduate student of the Department of Accounting, Government Haji Muhammad Mohsin College, Chittagong.
Abdus Salam, the father of the deceased, said he had a long-running dispute with neighbor Khorshed Alam over the place. More than one meeting was held at the police station to settle the dispute. A group of terrorists with domestic weapons came to occupy the place around 1pm on Tuesday. The locals resisted the terrorists. Alamgir was forcibly dragged away and stabbed to death while the terrorists were leaving. Officer-in-charge (OC) of Boalkhali Police Station Abdul Karim told that the body was recovered from the spot and sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for autopsy in the morning. Two persons named Mohammad Syed and Mahbubur Rahman have been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the incident. An operation is underway to arrest those involved in the incident. The victim’s sister is in the process of filing a murder case with the police station.
