Entertainment Report :Veet star Lamia was born and brought up in Dhaka. She started her career in media to perform in a dance programme on Bangladesh Television (BTV) when she was studying in Class V. Later she didn’t work in media. But her mother wanted Lamia to establish herself as an actress. For this reason, she took part in Veet-Channel i Top Model contest in 2012. She then got popularity performing as model in television commercials and host in TV shows. Then she turned into an actress in movie. While talking about beginning of her career in movie Lamia told this correspondent, “I was searching a strong platform to prove myself. Veet contest was that platform. To reach among the viewers, I was also eager to perform in movie in this regard. Saimon sir gave me that opportunity. I am really grateful to him. I am a newcomer in the film industry. Everybody pray for me as I can perform well and to establish myself in the big screen.” “In fact, after competing in the Veet-Channel i Top Model 2012 I performed in some TVCs of Pran. Later I hosted a film related show on Mohona TV titled Cinema Cinema. After watching my presentation Saimon Tariq bhai offered me to perform in his directed movie Matir Pori. I agreed to perform in the movie. By this way I have started my career as an actress in the big screen,” she said.In the movie Matir Pori, Lamia is acting in role of ‘Kajol.’ There is similarity between the role of ‘Kajol’ and her real life. For this reason, she is enjoying to perform in the movie, Lamia said. It may be mentioned that there are five playback tracks in movie Matir Pori.
