The 38th founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Labour Party, a partner of the BNP-led 20-party alliance, is today (Thursday).
The party chalked out weeklong programme to mark the day. The programme includes hoisting of the national and the party flags, cutting of cake, discussion in the city and other parts of the country till October 27 and observation of organising week.
On the occasion, the Labour Party Chairman Dr Mostafizur Rahman and Secretary General Hamdullah-al-Mehdi greeted the countrymen and the leaders and the workers of the party.
On the day in 1974, Bangladesh Labour Party was formed under leadership of Maulana Abdul Matin. The party in the later days was included in the Jatiyatabadi Front during the regime of Ziaur Rahman. The party has been under the fold the BNP-led alliance since 2012.
