In a shocking incident, an elderly couple and their daughter have died in a span of only 13 hours in Mirpur upazila of Kushtia.
The deceased were identified as Lalon Mollick, 70, wife Anjera Khatun, 65, and their daughter Anguri Khatun, wife of Mokkel Ali, of Gobindagunia village in the upazila.
Locals said Anjera breathed her last at their house around 11pm on Friday due to illness.
Stricken by grief following her mother’s death, Anguri fell ill at her house at Nowapara in Mirpur municipality around 11am on Saturday. She died on the way to hospital.
Hearing the death news of his daughter, Lalon also collapsed and died at his own residence one hour later, said member of Dhubail union parishad Saiful Islam.
A pall of gloom descended on the locality following the deaths of the couple and their daughter.
