Kumar Shanu, Ankhi Alamgir honoured in Kolkata

Popular Bangladeshi singer Ankhi Alamgir and legendary Indian singer Kumar Shanu received honours at ‘Bijoya Sammiloni 2019’ held at Netaji Sports Complex- Kamalgazi in Kolkata on first day of November. They received the honour from Kolkata’s MP Subhasish Chakraborty and MLA Ferdousi Begum.
While sharing her feelings in this regard Ankhi Alamgir told this correspondent from Kolkata over mobile phone, “I really became speechless after receiving the honour with the presence of 30 thousands audience. November 1 will be a red letter day for me forever. I am really delighted for this. I give thanks to all including my musicians and the organizers of the event.”
After receiving the honour, both Ankhi and Kumar Shanu enthralled the audience by their four hours long performances. Ankhi returned to Dhaka yesterday. As the season of stage show coming, she will be busy with her performances.
Ankhi informed that she has already finished works of two new songs. One is Tonni Tonuka, which lyrics are written by Gazi Mazharul Anwar and music is composed by Alauddin Ali. Another song is composed by Akash Sen.
